Horned Frogs welcomed into the Alamo City

The city of San Antonio is known for a few famous things;  The Alamo, The Riverwalk and the San Antonio Spurs are but the top three.   Right after that comes the Valero Alamo Bowl now in it’s 23rd edition.

This years game (which figures to pump about $30 million into the city’s economy)  features the TCU Horned Frogs who last stepped foot in San Antonio to play 62 years ago when they beat the Trinity Tigers 47-0.  TCU will face the Oregon Ducks,who last appeared in the 2013 Edition of the Alamo Bowl when they beat the Texas Longhorns 30-7.  TCU and Oregon last met in 1977 when the then Oregon Webfoots beat TCU 29-24.

This is a great match for the Alamo Bowl, who has produced eight of the top 20 most watched bowl games in ESPN history, and you have the opportunity to be there!

Since opening in 1993, the Valero Alamo Bowl has become one of the premier bowl games of the NCAA  and has produced eight of the Top 20 most watched bowl games on ESPN with the 2006 match pitting the Texas Longhorns against the Iowa State Buckeyes becoming the most watched college bowl game in ESPN history with 8.83 million viewers.
